According to a survey by Tri Thuc – Znews, airline tickets from provinces to Ho Chi Minh City before February 18 have sold out on many routes, or are only available in very limited quantities.

For example, the Hanoi – Ho Chi Minh City route now only has a few tickets left on Bamboo Airways’ early morning flight on February 17. All other days are sold out for economy class tickets and only business class tickets from Vietnam Airlines are available at around 10 million dong per one-way ticket.

Passengers from Hai Phong to Ho Chi Minh City currently have no options until February 20. The Vinh – Ho Chi Minh City route only has tickets available for Vietjet Air’s morning flight on February 16 at a price of 1.6 million dong per one-way ticket. Otherwise, all other days are sold out.

Similarly, the Thanh Hoa – Vinh route is experiencing similar trends.

The Da Nang/Tuy Hoa/Quy Nhon – Ho Chi Minh City routes are even completely sold out until February 20. Even passengers with money cannot buy tickets, not even business class ones.

Due to the expensive airfare, many people have had to change their schedules to return to Ho Chi Minh City. Mr. Nam Giang (29 years old) said he had requested remote work permission from his company to save travel costs.

“The ticket price will drop 3-4 times if I fly to Ho Chi Minh City just 2-3 days later than my original work schedule. Changing schedules also helps me avoid the crowds at Noi Bai and Tan Son Nhat airports,” Giang shared.

According to the survey, after February 20, domestic flight ticket prices will gradually return to normal levels. Specifically, prices for Hanoi/Hai Phong/Vinh/Thanh Hoa/Da Nang – Ho Chi Minh City routes will be around 2-3 million dong per one-way ticket. Afterwards, ticket prices will decrease by about 1 million dong after February 28.

Meanwhile, tourist routes from Hanoi to Da Lat and Phu Quoc are currently experiencing sold-out tickets and show no signs of cooling down until February 20.

On February 14 – the last day of the Lunar New Year holiday before returning to work, the volume of transportation through Noi Bai Airport recorded about 550 flights with nearly 90,000 passengers (both international and domestic).

Noi Bai Airport continues to implement Level 1 Security measures from February 6 until February 16.

During the 7-day Lunar New Year holiday, it is estimated that Noi Bai Airport served about 3,500 flights with over 550,000 passengers arriving and departing safely through Noi Bai Airport.
