The dragon mascot at Nguyen Hue Flower Street, Ho Chi Minh City in 2024 is expected to set a record in size, surpassing the size of the mascot of the Year of the Dragon 2012 and the Year of the Tiger 2022. Nguyen Hue Flower Street 2024 will serve the spring travel and enjoyment needs of residents and tourists from 7:00 p.m. on February 7 to 9:00 p.m. on February 14.

The dragon mascot model in Bac Giang was made by Mr. Bui Van Quan (32 years old, in Hung Son commune, Hiep Hoa) in more than 70 days. The model is 4.5m high, includes a pedestal, and has a capacity of 10-12 tons, the side is made of an iron frame surrounded by steel mesh, covered with a mixture of sand and cement on the outside, decorated with models of banh chung and apricot blossoms. The model is called “Happy Dragon”, and is expected to be opened by Mr. Quan to welcome visitors for free from January 28.

On social networks, many opinions say that the statue has many features of a European dragon. However, the owner said that he only uses the body structure of a European dragon, and the other details all have the characteristics of traditional Vietnamese dragons.

It is known that in addition to the pair of dragon statues made of reinforced concrete placed at Van An pagoda, Mr. Tam also constructed a dragon mascot placed in the park of Lao Bao town (Huong Hoa district, Quang Tri province). Currently, the base for the dragon is complete. These days, Mr. Dinh Van Tam and his team of workers are decorating the mascot. Mr. Tam and the People’s Committee of Lao Bao town agreed not to reveal the image of the dragon mascot before the handover around the 16th day of the 12th lunar month to create a surprise.
