Many of us will have to look for a good meal during Chinese New Year, which will fall on Saturday 10 February 2024. This year the extended holidays will stretch to Monday 12 February. Traditionally, many restaurants close during the first and second days of Chinese New Year (CNY). However, we in Singapore are fortunate to have a variety of restaurants that will remain open during the extended CNY holidays – in many locations offering diverse cuisines to suit different budgets. We have made a list of a few restaurants open during Chinese New Year 2024 for those of us who need to know where to eat during the festive period, especially on Day 1 of the lunar new year.
Chinese Restaurants – Chinese restaurant such as Ya Ge and selected outlets of chains like Din Tai Fung and Imperial Treasure are open for lunch and dinner during the first day of CNY 2024.
Cafes – Surrey Hills Grocer, PS.Cafes and Canopy are among cafes that will be open during the CNY holidays.
Various Cuisines – High end places like Estate at Hilton, vegetarian restaurants of Greendot or IKEA restaurants with plant-based and halal dishes, as well as affordable eateries such as Hainan Story and Han’s will satisfy most tastes and budgets.
Food Courts – Selected food courts of Food Republic, Kopitiam and Cantine are open on Day 1 and Day 2 of CNY.

At ION Orchard, Raffles City and The Woodleigh Mall, Surrey Hills Grocer will be serving up farm to table Australian cafe fare throughout the Chinese New Year holidays.
Surrey Hills Grocer Raffles City introduces an exclusive Chinese New Year menu featuring dishes curated by Kenneth Loh, a local home-based chef widely known as “Chef Ken”.
